Wolves are taking on Liverpool this weekend in their penultimate Premier League game of 2025.
Rob Edwards is looking for a big response after seeing his side produce a poor display against Brentford.
Keane Lewis-Potter scored two goals for the visitors, and there was again a frustrating lack of quality in the final third.
Will Rob Edwards get his first point/s as Wolves manager against Liverpool at Anfield? 👀
Arne Slot reckons Wolves will be a challenge for his side this weekend…
Wolves will need to improve massively if they are to get anything against Liverpool at Anfield this weekend. A performance like the one against Arsenal recently would certainly be most welcome.
Liverpool have struggled at times this season, but this will obviously still be an extremely tough game for Wolves.
And ahead of the game, Edwards gave an injury update that features a ‘big blow’.

Toti Gomes out for weeks for Wolves

Wolves’ squad is now starting to get quite stretched.
Emmanuel Agbadou and Tawanda Chirewa both left for AFCON recently, and Rodrigo Gomes has been out of action for the last few weeks with injury.
Marshall Munetsi and Jean-Ricner Bellegarde are also in the treatment room.
Hugo Bueno has also struggled a bit with his fitness in recent weeks, missing out on the squads for Brentford, Arsenal and Nottingham Forest.
But the Spaniard has been training ahead of Liverpool according to Edwards, who has said they are ‘hopeful’ he’ll be available.
Wolves fans, tell us the defence you think Rob Edwards should choose to face Liverpool!
Toti is injured and Agbadou is away ❌
But one man who’ll definitely be out against Liverpool is Toti Gomes, who has a hamstring issue.
Edwards said (via Wolves official): “Toti is out for a significant period of time with his hamstrings, so it’ll be weeks for him.
“It’s a big blow for him and the team, but it’s an opportunity for other people and that’s just the nature of the game at the moment.
“We’ve had a couple of muscle injuries over the last few weeks, and we have probably been pushing them harder and maybe risking one or two bits, but it’s always a shame when you get one of those.”

Ladislav Krejci to keep his place for Wolves
So Toti is looking at a prolonged spell on the sidelines, which will be a frustration for Edwards.
Before he missed out against Brentford, Toti had played every game under Edwards, who seemed to like him on the left of his three, as have previous managers.

Perhaps we will see Ladislav Krejci play in his position, as he did against Brentford.
Krejci was at fault for the first goal Brentford scored and will be keen to atone against Liverpool, and hopefully the Czech international will manage to do that at Anfield.
