‘Shambles’… Wolves fans all saying the same thing about Gary O’Neil after terrible Ipswich Town loss

Wolves supporters reached boiling point at full-time of their latest defeat against Ipswich Town.

Gary O’Neil somehow had the backing of the Wolves board heading into this contest, despite sitting second bottom of the table and on the back of three straight defeats.

The Old Gold knew anything other than three points wasn’t enough this afternoon, and the worst-case scenario unfolded as Ipswich scored a 93rd-minute winner to put a dagger through their hearts.

It isn’t a scoreline that is surprising to anybody, though, as Wolves have been awful for weeks and they showed no signs of improving here.

Now, it’s impossible to see how O’Neil keeps his job after Wolves were beaten 2-1 by Ipswich, leaving them 19th in the table.

Wolves fans demand Gary O’Neil gets sacked now

Fosun is as much to blame for Wolves’ demise as O’Neil. Ultimately, asset stripping for years and not investing properly into the playing squad was going to come back to bite them.

But, it’s unacceptable that a manager can keep his job after winning just two league games since April and look destined for relegation without change.

As the full-time whistle blew at Molineux, the supporters expressed their concerns for the club and also demanded that the manager is sacked for what feels like the 100th time this season.

“This clubs a complete shambles. Fosun and o’neil are KILLING this football team and its horrific to watch,” one supporter said.

“I can only laugh at this point. Until O’Neil is gone we will continue to be a laughing stock. May as well laugh with everyone else!” another exclaimed.

“Not a chance in hell O’Neil survives this!” a third exclaimed.

“If I was O’Neil I’d just leave. I’d be so embarrassed that my decisions are making my players want to fight everyone after games 2 weeks on the trot,” a sixth responded.

Wolves face an uphill battle for Premier League survival

There’s no question that O’Neil should be sacked after that harrowing defeat, although he should have lost his job a long time ago.

The longer the club leave it, the less chance they’re going to have at surviving, as it’s become abundantly clear that O’Neil isn’t the right man to take this club forward.

It seems like a poisoned chalice managing the Old Gold under Fosun and five managers have already rejected Wolves, including former Chelsea boss Graham Potter.

This is the biggest concern for the fans as they know it’ll be hard for the club to attract a Premier League-proven manager who is willing to be the owner’s puppet, just like O’Neil has been.

Indeed, whoever takes the job has a difficult task on their hands to galvanise this group of players whose mentality is on the floor, resulting in them losing their anger on the pitch.
