Roy Keane admits he really likes the look of ‘very talented’ £60k-a-week Wolves ace

Roy Keane praised Matheus Cunha ahead of today’s bad-tempered FA Cup game between West Bromwich Albion and Wolves in the FA Cup.

Cunha scored late on for Wolves to make it 2-0, after Pedro Neto had opened the scoring for the visitors at the Hawthorns.

Play was then suspended following an outbreak of crowd trouble.

The unsavoury scenes were very concerning, and threatened to result in the game being abandoned. Thankfully, police were able to calm things down and play resumed, with Wanderers holding out for victory.

Ahead of kick-off today, ITV Sport did a segment on some of Wolves’ forwards, and Cunha was a focus for the punditry team.

The £60,000-a-week Brazilian has enjoyed a tremendous season so far for Wanderers, scoring eight goals and providing six assists.

He has definitely really found his feet at Molineux now, following a tricky first few months after his £44 million move from Atletico Madrid.

Keane has liked what he’s seen from Cunha so far this term, saying on ITV Sport: “He’s a talented player. He’s lively. Every time he gets the ball you think something’s going to happen.”

“Really exciting player, he has the ability to beat players. He’s got that pace, he looks a very natural player off the cuff. I like the look of him, big player. They’ve got a lot of very good players, Wolves.”

Cunha brilliant again for Wolves

This was by no means a superb performance from Wolves, but in the end the quality told, and it was Cunha who sealed the game for Wanderers.

It was a great finish from the Brazilian, who is looking much more convincing in front of goal now than when he first arrived.

He was a real threat for the visitors at the Hawthorns, especially in the second-half when Wanderers found their feet a bit more in the game.

He cost a lot of money one year ago, but he is now seriously looking like good business by the club.
