Rodrigo Gomes drops verdict on Wolves boss Vitor Pereira and shares one crucial part of his management style

Wolves fans can barely believe what is happening right now.

On Saturday, Wolves made it six straight wins in the Premier League, beating Leicester City 3-0 at Molineux.

Wanderers were far superior across all departments, with Leicester poor.

Wolves were always likely to get a result against an already relegated side, but the nature of the performance was extremely encouraging.

It is clear to see that confidence is soaring at the moment, and that’s all thanks to Vitor Pereira.

Pereira has been a revelation since he replaced Gary O’Neil. It took a few weeks for his reign to come to life, but now, things are looking extremely healthy.

And winger Rodrigo Gomes has been speaking about playing under the Portuguese, after scoring his first goal at Molineux.

Wolves are the in-form team in Europe at the moment.

Six wins in a row would have been unheard of only five months ago, but something special is happening under Pereira.

It’s been clear to see that all the players have immediately bought into him, and the fans have followed suit.

And Rodrigo Gomes – who channelled Pedro Neto against Leicester – made some interesting comments about Pereira after the win on Saturday, with the final line making it very clear why everyone is so happy.

He said: “It’s amazing. He came in a very difficult moment for us, and he helped us a lot. Now we have six wins in a row, and it’s a very good job from Vitor and from the staff.

“It’s very, very good to be a part of this. I’m very happy, and I want to enjoy this moment. He’s very good tactically and very good with the connection. He helps a lot with the human part.”

Shades of Nuno with Pereira

It is very difficult not to draw parallels with Nuno Espirito Santo when it comes to Pereira at Wolves.

Nuno had a fantastic relationship with his players and the fans and the same seems to be happening now.

Even Dave Edwards noted recently that Pereira was looking to emulate Nuno in terms of building that connection with people at Molineux.

It was recently suggested Pereira has impressed with his conduct at Compton Park.

Given how much disarray and unhappiness there was at the time of O’Neil’s sacking, it was vital for Wolves to hire a good man-manager.

As good as Pereira is tactically, he is clearly someone who is very good on a human level too, which the players no doubt appreciate.
