Wolves are looking for a new manager – and former striker Robbie Keane has thrown his hat into the ring.
Wolves parted company with Vitor Pereira yesterday morning following the dismal 3-0 defeat to Fulham on Saturday.
Fulham were an opportunity for three points for Wolves, coming into the game having lost their last four.
But Pereira fielded a highly questionable starting XI which did not feature Andre and Joao Gomes – and Wolves put in a terrible display.
Having been supportive of Pereira, Fosun’s stance changed. They decided they would be firing Pereira when the game finished, and broke the news to him the following morning.
Wolves are now looking for a successor – and Molineux News can bring an interesting update in the search.
Robbie Keane has applied for the Wolves job

Several names have already been mentioned regarding the vacancy at Wolves.
Gary O’Neil and Rob Edwards are among the potential candidates, with Michael Carrick also mentioned.
Carrick was asked about a potential return to management amid the links to Wolves, but would not be drawn on his next plans.
Molineux News understands that Brendan Rodgers would be open to taking the Wolves job.
But we have also learned in the last moments of a surprise development in Wolves’ search for a new manager. And that is that Robbie Keane has applied for the job.
Keane, of course, began his playing career at Wolves, and made his first-team debut at the age of 17. He would spend a couple of years at the club before being sold to Coventry City.
Keane went on to be hugely successful in the Premier League, scoring 126 goals in 349 appearances in the competition.
What Robbie Keane has done in management so far

Any appointment of Keane by Wolves would certainly be fascinating, and we’ll have to wait and see if club officials would be interested.
In the last couple of years Keane has forayed into football management, having previously had assistant roles at Leeds United, Middlesbrough and the Republic of Ireland.
He spent a year as the head coach of Maccabi Tel Aviv, overseeing 53 games, winning 38, drawing nine and losing six.
He then went to Hungarian outfit Ferencvaros, where he’s been since January 2025. To date, he’s taken 47 matches, winning 28, drawing 11, and losing eight.
At both of these clubs he has a points-per-game ratio of over 2, and he’s actually also won a few trophies along the way, including the Israeli Premier League and Toto Cup with Maccabi Tel Aviv, and also the Nemzeti Bajnokság (Hungarian top division) with Ferencvaros.
