Rob Edwards is already turning into a bit of a fan favourite at Wolves and we’ve not even seen him in action yet.
The mood at Wolves is quickly changing as more and more players come out of the woodwork to praise the start under Rob Edwards.
Matt Doherty was one of the first to come out and state his confidence in Wolves avoiding relegation.
He was followed by Mateus Mane, who has said just how much the players have been pushed by Edwards, with intensity going up another level.
Wolves fans, how do you see Rob Edwards getting on in his first game against Crystal Palace?
It’s refreshing to see such positive responses in such a short space of time, especially given how toxic and negative things have been over the past few months.
Mateus Mane and Enso Gonzalez spotted in Wolves training
Mateus Mane and Enso Gonzalez had the pleasure of appearing in first-team training at Wolves during the international break.
This comes after the pair were involved in the matchday squad for Wolves’ clash with Chelsea.
Mane enjoyed a brief cameo for the Old Gold at Stamford Bridge, and even had his first viral moment after being adjudged to have committed an offence, despite him being fouled.
Considering he wasn’t called upon by Vitor Pereira, it was a nice surprise to see Mane handed his chance by James Collins after all his hard work for the Under-21 side.
Gonzalez is looking to make up for lost time after missing out on all of last season after sustaining an ACL injury at the 2024 Olympic Games.
Mateus Mane is ready for Premier League football
Dave Edwards has already offered Wolves fans hope by stating that the new Wolves boss won’t be afraid to call upon the youngsters in games.
Given the lack of directness and creativity so far this season at Wolves, it wouldn’t even be seen as a risk to hand Mane another chance in the top-flight.
His goal and assist against Wigan Athletic’s first-team showed just what he’s capable of at the age 18.
Even if it’s just a late substitute appearance, he has the pace and power to really make a difference when there are tired legs.
