The arrival of a new manager can provide the perfect opportunity to shake things up, and that’s what Fluminense legend Pintinho thinks Rob Edwards needs to do with Andre.
Andre’s second season at Wolves has been just as difficult as his first, but the Brazilian’s quality has shone through.
Wolves fans voted for Andre as best performer against Aston Villa — the latest in a string of solid displays in the engine room for Edwards.
Given his quality, it’s no surprise to see January approaches being made for Andre, but if he does stick it out at Molineux, a former star from his previous club has some advice for the Wolves boss.

Pintinho tells Rob Edwards to push Andre further forward
A Fluminense great with over 250 appearances, Pintinho keeps a close eye on his alumni when they depart for Europe.
He says the performances that spurred Wolves to sign Andre for £21 million were noticeably different from what we have grown used to here in England.
Andre has been a holding midfielder for all three managers he has played under, and a good one at that. But Pintinho thinks he should be pushed into an attacking midfield role.
As he explains to R.org (via Express & Star): “I’d like to see him play a little more selfishly, for himself, because he has the ability to take on a more advanced midfield role. However, he needs belief in himself for this to happen.
“I think he can do really well in the final third and score more goals. He knows everything about playing in front of the defence, but he should play a little further up the pitch as well, and I hope to see him play in a more attacking role one day in the future.”
Not something many Wolves fans would have considered.
Andre is a top player on his day for Wolves
Andre yet to score a goal for Wolves
Not that we’re doubting what Pintinho has seen, we’re yet to get a glimpse of this attacking prowess from Andre.
In 51 games for Wolves, he’s yet to register a goal or an assist.
Edwards is under a fair bit of pressure at the moment, and a decision like that, made with little evidence, could land him in hot water with fans.

Maybe Andre can be a weapon further up the pitch, but for now, let’s leave him at the base of midfield. We certainly need him there.
