Wolves fell to yet another defeat in the Premier League on Saturday but Dave Edwards does believe there were two bright sparks against Crystal Palace.
Wolves remain in big trouble, after losing 2-0 against the Eagles at Molineux.
The Old Gold played OK for two-thirds of the game, but didn’t have the quality in the final third to threaten Palace.
Wolves vs Crystal Palace highlights
There was no dream start for Rob Edwards, who felt Wolves lacked confidence on what was a frustrating day at the office.
But the good news for Edwards was that it was nowhere near as bad as some performances we saw under Vitor Pereira.
And for Dave Edwards, his namesake had two real bright sparks in particular.

Wolves are nine points from safety and Edwards truly has the job of his life to get the club safe.
Many have already written Wolves off and certainly, a haul of two points from 12 games is no reason for optimism.
But Wolves, despite being in such a terrible moment, still do have some genuinely good players.
And for Dave Edwards, Andre and Joao Gomes were shining lights against Crystal Palace, with Andre coming in for particular praise.
He said in his E&S column: “I thought Andre and Joao Gomes were both terrific in the middle of the pitch and Andre’s ball retention was particularly excellent.
Adam Wharton spots a big change Rob Edwards has already made at Wolves
“He was the one player that I felt could handle the ball for Wolves and calm the game down.
“Away from that, Wolves really lacked quality at the top end of the pitch and that’s where Rob Edwards is going to have to try and find a way to score goals and to relieve pressure.”
Andre and Joao Gomes are levels above the rest
While Andre and Joao Gomes’ lack creativity has been exposed this season, they are still a cut above the other players in this Wolves squad.
The Brazilian pair are fantastic ball winners, and Andre is indeed someone who can provide control from the base of the midfield, and has the composure that many of his teammates lack.
Unfortunately, they often stick out like sore thumbs which is undoubtedly going to lead to attention from other clubs.
Molineux News readers felt Joao Gomes and Andre were Wolves’ best players vs Crystal Palace
Gomes is wanted by Manchester United, and speculation has been picking up over a potential January move.
Not much has been written about Andre yet in terms of a potential exit. But reports could surface soon, and if he or Gomes don’t go in January, they surely will next summer sadly.
