Wolves are approaching Rob Edwards about him becoming the new manager at Molineux, and word has just been offered about his stance.
Wolves had gone for Gary O’Neil earlier this week and had felt confident of appointing him.
But O’Neil dramatically withdrew, which then saw Wanderers focus more on Middlesbrough boss Edwards.
This week, Edwards has twice played down speculation about Wolves as the club seek a replacement for Vitor Pereira, who was sacked on Sunday.
But on Thursday, it was reported that Wolves are making an approach for Edwards.
And now, after he wouldn’t give it publicly, there is word regarding Edwards’ stance on taking the job at his old club.
Rob Edwards wants Wolves job

It has been a rather chaotic week for Wolves, with fans desperately hoping to see a new man appointed in time for the Chelsea game.
It was suggested that Wolves may not have a new manager in place for Chelsea, with youth team coaches James Collins and Richard Walker set to take the team.
But the Edwards speculation has now really started to pick up.
And this evening, journalist Alex Richards has reported that Edwards does indeed want to return to Wolves and succeed Pereira as manager.
Taking to X, he said: “Only thing stopping Rob Edwards from being the next Wolves manager now is if he produces a Mick Beale-style U-turn. As things stand, he wants to return.”
Molineux News reported earlier this week that Boro were worried about Wolves’ interest in Edwards, and it appears they now face a major fight to keep him.
Edwards could be in place for Chelsea
It has been a frantic week, but it’s one that could end with Edwards in the dugout at Stamford Bridge as the new Wolves manager.
Molineux News’ transfer expert Graeme Bailey has told us Wolves feel confident of landing Edwards, and there is even a feeling that he could be in place for Chelsea.
