Rob Edwards has been asked to follow one thing Nuno Espirito Santo did during his Wolves spell after finally picking up a win this season vs West Ham
The Old Gold’s first Premier League win of the season, coincidentally, came against their former manager, Espirito Santo.
It was a tough day for the West Ham chief, but Wolves fans let him know he still holds a big place in their hearts.
And now one former Wolves player believes Rob Edwards needs to follow an example once set by the Portuguese head coach.
Where do you rank Nuno Espirito Santo among former Wolves managers?
Surely he has to be near the top 💭
Andy Thompson wants Rob Edwards to stick to the same core of starting players
Rob Edwards looks like he has found the way to win at Wolves, as the Old Gold have looked much better over the course of the last two games.
Those performances have seen the club triple their points tally in that period, jumping from just two to six.
Overall, it is still not a great position to be in, but positive signs are there, and Molineux legend Andy Thompson is urging Edwards to stick with what is working.
WOW 😍. What is your message to Rob Edwards after that performance, Wolves fans?
Thompson said on the Official Wolves Podcast, “I was listening to someone on the radio this morning, and they were going on about teams keeping players and being consistent with their selections, and that was the one thing Nuno did when he was here.
“If his team were fit, you knew what the starting 11 was. You look at your Arsenal’s and Villa’s; you look at that consistent thing which is the players that are in the team all the time.”
It has taken some time, but Edwards may have found the winning formula at Wolves.
The bank of three midfielders, with two being more attacking options, has given the Old Gold more threat moving forward.
Additionally, while Joao Gomes and Andre are both quality players, they do not seem to work well together in an offensive aspect.
The 5-3-2 formation needs to stay

The 5-3-2 setup that has been used against both Manchester United and West Ham has given Wolves the perfect balance.
It offers defensive stability with both five defenders and three workhorse midfielders, while the addition of two forward-thinking number eights in Mateus Mane and Jhon Arias still keeps them with a way to play out of the back.
The Wolves head coach will no doubt be tempted to revert to using both Andre and Joao Gomes, but that pairing is way too defensive, and the Wanderers need to show some courage to win games.
Hopefully, there are not any changes, or simply just a few, against Everton on Wednesday, but Edwards may be forced to make some.
