Wolves feared they could lose five players to the African Cup of Nations, but it’s turned out to be nowhere near as bad.
Rob Edwards has struggled to get a tune out of his Wolves players with the full squad, so losing any to the African Cup of Nations likely won’t have too much of an impact.
Jackson Tchatchou has been omitted from Cameroon’s squad for the competition, which opens the door for more competitiveness at right-back now that Matt Doherty and Ki-Jana Hoever are back.
Meanwhile, Tolu Arokodare’s start to life at Molineux has damaged his hopes, as he’s also set to miss out on the competition, despite playing a part in their qualification.
There is one player confirmed to be leaving, though, and that is Emmanuel Agbadou, who has featured in every minute under Rob Edwards so far.

Tawanda Chirewa was named in Zimbabwe squad, but Marshall Munetsi was absent
Tawanda Chirewa has only just come into the Wolves squad over the last month or so, after James Collins spoke highly of him ahead of the Chelsea clash.
However, he has only been given 21 minutes in the Premier League.
This hasn’t affected his relationship with the Zimbabwe national team, though, as he’s now been selected to represent them in the African Cup of Nations.
However, Wolves midfielder Marshall Munetsi misses out due to his underlying injury issue.
Marshall Munetsi’s injury rules him out of AFCON; meanwhile, Tawanda Chirewa gets called up for Zimbabwe.

Wolves need to put more trust in youth
Rob Edwards has included the likes of Tawanda Chirewa and Mateus Mane in various squads since becoming Wolves boss.
This was something that Vitor Pereira was almost scared to do, despite talking up a player like Mane on several occasions during his time at Molineux.
The one thing that has been evident in the limited minutes of Mane is that he has no fear. He drives at the opposition and looks to use his pace, which is something we just haven’t seen at Wolves since Matheus Cunha departed in the summer.
Even Fer Lopez looked to move forward with the ball and create opportunities in the final third against Manchester United last time out.
Jean Ricner-Bellegarde was one of the players to say he’s not scared, but more often than not, Wolves go backwards when in possession, and it is hugely frustrating.
