The praise for Rafa Mir continues, with Spanish outlet Heraldo producing a lengthy article about the star’s goalscoring exploits on loan at SD Huesca.
The 23-year-old seems to have found his feet with the La Liga side after an underwhelming spell at Nottingham Forest.
So far this season, Mir has bagged eight goals for the Aragon-based club (following) 12 last term.
That only puts him 12th in the goalscoring charts, but Heraldo provide some context.
That is a better haul than the likes of Alvaro Negredo, Antoine Griezmann, Joao Felix, who are just below and all playing in better sides.
Mir is also the second-highest scorer of all players aged 23 and under, with Real Sociedad’s Alexander Isak leading the way with 12.
Heraldo seem hugely impressed with Mir, and state that his season will have been ‘outstanding’ regardless of what happens to Huesca.
Currently they are bottom of the table on 20 points – four points from safety.
Mir praise highly encouraging
It’s great to see Mir having a really productive loan spell.
It seems that his contributions are really important for Huesca, who’d be in deep trouble without the ex-Valencia player.
Huesca are said to have an option-to-buy Mir, but he’ll need to green-light that, meaning it might be worth Wolves’ while to reconsider any plans to offload him this summer.
