Wolves and Raul Jimenez were reunited again yesterday, as the Old Gold lost at Craven Cottage in the Premier League, in what turned out to be Vitor Pereira’s final game in charge.
Wolves’ winless run continued, with Vitor Pereira paying the price for naming a baffling starting XI against the Cottagers. The club officially sacked the Portuguese on Sunday morning.
Andre and Joao Gomes were both benched for the game with Fulham. Marshall Munetsi was again picked despite criticism recently, and Ki-Jana Hoever was another controversial selection.
In the end, Wolves fell to a sorry 3-0 defeat.
Pereira has gone now, and things really haven’t been this bad for quite some time.
And as a way of coping yesterday, travelling Wolves fans opted to focus on the past during the defeat to Fulham.
Supporters sang about several former stars, and one man who actually heard his song in the flesh of course was Raul Jimenez, who left Molineux for Craven Cottage in 2023.

Jimenez still holds a place dear in the hearts of many Wolves fans.
The Mexican spent five years at Molineux and at one point he established himself as one of the most fearsome strikers in the Premier League.
Jimenez was a total handful. But sadly, the skull fracture injury he suffered in November 2021 meant he was never really the same afterwards.
Jimenez left Wolves in 2023 and has enjoyed a decent spell with Fulham so far – scoring 23 goals in 84 appearances, and providing four assists. When you factor in what happened to him and also his age, that’s actually a very respectable return.
It was yet more doom and gloom yesterday for Wolves fans watching their team lose 3-0 to Fulham. But it was at least nice to see Jimenez again, and those who made the trip down sang the Mexican’s ‘Si Senor’ song.
This happened as Jean-Ricner Bellegarde was being substituted off for Tolu Arokodare in the second-half.
And that was appreciated by the player, who shared a clip of it on his Instagram Story, indicating that he still very much loves and respects the Molineux faithful.
How Wolves could do with a prime Jimenez right now

It is little wonder Wolves fans were singing about former players yesterday, as many are simply fed up of the current crop.
Wolves have badly struggled in front of goal this season, and that was rarely the case a few years ago when Jimenez was leading the line.
Before his injury, the Mexican was genuinely a force to be reckoned with in a Wolves shirt at times.
Raul Jimenez for Wolves (2018-2023)
Appearances – 166
Goals – 57
Assists – 23
He would bully centre-backs, hold the ball up, run the channels, come short, link play, make assists, score goals – Jimenez could do it all.
Of course, he had a great supporting cast featuring the likes of Adama Traore, Pedro Neto, Diogo Jota and Daniel Podence.
But very often Jimenez could just score a goal out of nothing. What Wolves would give for a player like that now.
