Raul Jimenez has praised Hwang Hee-chan, and suggested he is a similar player to Diogo Jota.
The South Korean international is currently on a season-long loan at Molineux from RB Leipzig.
The star came in to bolster Bruno Lage’s attacking options.
So far, it’s been a brilliant stint for Hwang.
He has already scored four times, and has become a real hit with the supporters.
He works tirelessly, and is set to play a big role for Wolves in 2021/22.
There has been some talk recently that Wolves would like to sign him permanently.
There is a £13 million buy option, and there were claims Wolves would like to sort it out early.
It seems Jimenez would certainly like to see that happen.
Speaking about his fellow forward, he said: “He’s a good player who runs for every ball in the game. I have to link up with all of my teammates because this is part of the team, the strikers have to link up.
“There are moments. For a season I was with Jota, the second season with Adama, last season I didn’t play and now with Hwang.
“Maybe they are similar. They have different characteristics but they are a little bit similar. They are different players and it’s good to have that kind of player with us.”
Don Goodman said in September that the feeling at Wolves is that Hwang can be another Jota, who left the club in 2020 to join Liverpool for £45 million.
Wolves must complete permanent Hwang deal
Hwang has already shown enough to warrant Wolves paying the money to sign him permanently.
The club might as well trigger their clause if, of course, the player is happy to make the move.
Hwang certainly seems settled, and it would be nice to think he’d want to turn the move permanent early.
The star is perfectly suited to playing in the Premier League.
And his partnership with Jimenez has been looking very promising indeed.
