For many Wolverhampton Wanderers fans, the sight of Raul Jimenez in Old Gold shirt again cannot come soon enough.

Last term the striker saw his season cut brutally short, clashing heads with David Luiz against Arsenal back in November.

The scenes that followed were harrowing.

Jimenez would go to hospital that night for emergency surgery on a fractured skull.

He’s been unable to take to the field since that awful evening, but thankfully, that is something that will definitely be happening soon.

By all accounts Jimenez’s recovery has gone very well.

There was some talk about him potentially featuring before the end of 2020/21 but ultimately, it was decided his comeback will be at the start of the coming season.

Jimenez will play with protective headgear and hopefully, he can pick up where he left off.

That said, it’s likely he’ll need time to get back up full speed.

But his return to the starting XI will be such a big boost for the other players.

It seems Jimenez is very keen to get going.

The player has taken to Instagram today to show followers he is at the Sir Jack Hayward Training Ground, writing ‘Look who’s back’.

It is currently unclear whether he’s starting pre-season training or he’s there for another reason.
