Raul Jimenez does gym work after linking up with Wolves teammates in Marbella

Wolves have released footage of Raul Jimenez doing some gym work, after the striker joined up with his teammates in Marbella.

The 31-year-old has now linked up with the squad, after exiting the World Cup last week with Mexico.

The nation failed to get out of their group, despite beating Saudi Arabia 2-1 in their final group stage match in Qatar.

Jimenez made three appearances at the World Cup, coming on as a substitute each time.

The star had battled to be fit for the tournament, and seemingly it came just a bit too soon for him to be properly effective.

Tata Martino took a lot of stick from the Mexican press for including the Wolves number nine in his final squad.

Some believed he should not have gone given his lack of minutes for Wolves, and that youngster Santi Gimenez should have gone in his place.

Jimenez has now made the trip to Marbella to be with his Wolves teammates.

The club released footage this morning of the former Benfica star doing some dynamic stretches and riding an exercise bike.

It remains to be seen if he will join in with team training today or tomorrow, or if he will do some individual work.

Wolves then have a game against Italian side Empoli on Friday. Julen Lopetegui will hope to get Jimenez involved in that if possible.

Raul Jimenez’s level of involvement for Wolves in Marbella will be interesting

It will be intriguing to see what Jimenez gets up to in the next nine days.

He got minutes for Mexico in their three games in Qatar, and also played a full half against Sweden just before the tournament.

That suggests he isn’t too far off being fully fit. Unless of course, Mexico rushed him back before he was ready.

Hopefully the star will be able to get some decent minutes under his belt against Empoli and then Cadiz next week.

There have been reports about him potentially leaving in January. But there are a few games to play before the window opens and it would be great if he could have an impact.
