Wolves continued their fine form at the weekend with a 2-1 win over Brentford in the Premier League.
It’s now four wins in four games in 2022, and optimism about the club is starting to really increase.
Wolves struggled initially this season. Of course, they lost the first three games of the season 1-0 despite being the better side in each contest.
But things are beginning to click now.
Not only are Wolves solid at the back, the team are also finding the net a bit more regularly.
Slowly but surely, people are beginning to take note of what Wolves are doing under Bruno Lage.
Currently, the club are just four points off the top four, with a game in hand.
The team currently occupying that fourth position is Manchester United, who fell victims to Wolves earlier this month.
Ralf Rangnick believes Lage’s side are currently in contention to finish in that top four come the end of the season.
He said (ESPN): “There are other teams involved in that (top four) race, it’s not only Spurs or Arsenal.
“Even Wolves is pushing from behind so it will probably be a race until the last couple of fixtures, but for us now it’s important to know that we can win games even if it’s in the last second of the game.”
Will Wolves make the top 4 this season?
Wolves are in a brilliant moment right now.
It seems that there is a much better balance about the team now compared to the start of the season.
But breaking into the top four in the Premier League is an extremely difficult thing to do.
United, West Ham United, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal are all gunning for that final spot.
They have all lacked consistency this term, which may give Wolves faint hope.
Maybe if Fosun really went for it in the transfer market this week and added a couple more players of real quality, then Wolves would have a genuine chance.
