Former Wolves striker Rafa Mir came in for praise from the Spanish media, after he scored in their 4-2 win over Granada.
The 24-year-old started from the bench at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium on Friday.
Mir has found starts harder to come by in recent weeks under Julen Lopetegui in recent weeks.
He got one against Rayo Vallecano a month ago.
But Lopetegui has mainly put his faith in En-Nesyri and loan forward Anthony Martial.
On Friday, Sevilla were drawing 2-2 with Granada before Mir popped up in the 93rd minute to score, volleying in at the far post after a great header across from Ivan Rakitic.
That was the crucial breakthrough, with Papu Gomez then making absolutely sure of the points for the home side moments later.
AS praised Mir for his contribution after entering the action on 76 minutes.
They call him ‘the nine of Sevilla’ even though he dons the number 12 shirt.
They say that his contribution today is much higher than that of En-Nesyri and Martial.
The result means Sevilla are 12 points behind leaders Real Madrid, with the two teams facing off next weekend.
A great first season for Mir since leaving Wolves
So Mir is now up to 12 goals for the season for Sevilla since leaving Wolves last summer.
That is a really solid return considering he hasn’t really ever been a regular starter.
He was never really able to establish himself at Molineux for one reason or another.
Bruno Lage wanted to give him a chance to prove himself for Wolves, but it was the player’s choice to leave and a good fee was received considering he only had a year left on his contract.
