Premier League make official decision for Wolves vs Nottingham Forest that is sure to annoy Jeff Shi

There is no time for Wolves to rest on their laurels and look back on defeat to Aston Villa, as a tough test against Nottingham Forest looms, and Jeff Shi will not be happy with one thing heading into the game.

The Old Gold are set to host the Tricky Trees on Wednesday night, and Rob Edwards will finally be hoping for his first win after back-to-back losses.

The Wanderers showed promise on Sunday against Aston Villa, and they will be looking to carry that forward.

Sean Dyche’s Forest look to be early contenders to join Wolves in the relegation fight, and that makes the possibility of three points all the more important.

And that task may be made more difficult after the Premier League’s latest decision.

Wolves had some referee controversy against Aston Villa, as Rob Edwards felt Joao Gomes should have been given a foul before Villa’s goal.

And when the Wanderers play Nottingham Forest, he will hope history does not repeat itself.

On Wednesday night, it will be Tim Robinson taking charge of proceedings, with the official having refereed 12 Wolves games in the past.

Luckily for Wolves, Robinson has yet to hand out any red cards or penalties against them, so hopefully that remains the case following full-time.

However, while the referee is a frequent official for the Old Gold, there was a moment when he was the VAR that made Jeff Shi fume.

Wolves will not enjoy their 7.30 pm kick-off time against Nottingham Forest…😟

Wolves have won just one of their last 17 evening kick-offs (7pm or later) in the Premier League (D4 L12), beating West Ham United 1-0 in April.

One man who will not be happy to see Tim Robinson at Molineux will be Jeff Shi.

A decision by Robinson, who was VAR at the time, to disallow a late equaliser for Wolves against West Ham was not well received by the chairman.

Tawanda Chirewa was deemed to be in an offside position, blocking the ability of Lukasz Fabianski to make a save from Max Kilman’s header.

In a statement after the game, Shi said, “If it wasn’t for a number of incorrect or contentious decisions, we would be even further up the table.

“When a goal is scored and not one person inside the stadium questions the validity of that goal, including both sets of players, coaches, fans and even the match officials themselves, it’s time to question whether someone remote disallowing that goal is really what football wants or needs.

“It is our sincere hope that the Premier League and PGMOL recognise the importance of addressing these concerns to uphold the integrity of the competition and demonstrate why the Premier League is regarded as the best in the world.”

Hopefully the same does not happen again on Wednesday, as Wolves may need as much help as they can possibly get to secure a win at this stage.
