Predicted Wolves XI to face Newcastle with as Jorgen Strand Larsen replacement decision made

Wolves will need to be on top of their game to get a result on Saturday as they head to St James’ Park to take on Newcastle United.

Eddie Howe is unbeaten against Wolves since taking the reins at Newcastle, something Vitor Pereira will be desperate to change this weekend.

That unbeaten streak includes a 100% win record at St James’ Park, suggesting Wolves will need a quality performance to come away from this fixture with anything to celebrate.

With that in mind, here’s Molineux News’ predicted Wolves XI to take on Newcastle.

Just one change to the Wolves back three as Ladislav Krejci gets his debut

As disappointing as Emmanuel Agbadou has been this season, he still gets the nod against Newcastle, as does captain Toti Gomes.

One new addition is enough for a back line that has struggled to stay organised in the opening three games.

That addition should be new signing Ladislav Krejci, who impressed on international duty. Wolves have been crying out for composure at the back, and Krejci brings exactly that.

With two left-footers in defence, Agbadou would be pushed out to the right, which might actually do him some good.

David Moller Wolfe and Jackson Tchatchoua are the profiles needed against a physical Newcastle side

Jose Sa and Jackson Tchatchoua both keep their starting spots with few alternatives.

Tchatchoua can cause Newcastle problems on the right flank and go shoulder to shoulder with the likes of Sandro Tonali and Joelinton.

Rodrigo Gomes has been in flying form, but he would perhaps struggle against Newcastle’s size and strength.

The same could be said of Hugo Bueno, who gets dropped for the more defensively solid David Moller Wolfe.

No changes in midfield but a dilemma for Vitor Pereira in the front line

Andre and Joao Gomes have to play for Wolves to have any chance of winning the battle in the centre of the park. Newcastle’s midfield may not be at full strength.

Up front, Jorgen Strand Larsen won’t feature, so Pereira has a decision to make. Tolu Arokodare isn’t at full fitness, but he would be the ideal pick.

Hwang He-chan enjoys playing Newcastle, and is more likely to get the starting berth.

On either side, Pereira will be looking to strike a balance between creativity and work rate, so one of each makes sense.

Fer Lopez should get his first Premier League start, and the chance to show his ability on the right. On the left, Jhon Arias’ defensive prowess should be trusted, and he could finally rediscover his attacking form.

Predicted XI vs Newcastle: Sa; Tchatchoua, Agbadou, Krejci, Toti, Moller Wolfe; Andre, J.Gomes; Lopez, Hwang, Arias.
