Wolves haven’t seen Rodrigo Gomes in action in almost two months, with the summer signing failing to feature during the international break.
Gomes was one of several Wolves stars called up for international duty for the March fixtures however, the versatile ace didn’t play any minutes.
Though Gomes returned to training in early March, Vitor Pereira hasn’t taken any chances with the 21-year-old’s fitness.
Having made an exciting impression so far at Molineux, Wolves fans are desperate to see Gomes in action again, in what has been an extensive break for the Portuguese star.

Rodrigo Gomes injury update
After playing sporadically under Gary O’Neil, Pereira showed full trust in Gomes, seeing the player thrive to new heights alongside the Wolves manager.
The former Braga starlet’s injury was untimely, to say the least, however, the summer arrival still went on international duty.
Gomes didn’t feature in either of Portugal U21’s games against Romania and England, prompting his manager, Rui Jorge, to comment on the player’s status.
“He [Gomes] came with some recommendations in terms of his recovery. Initially, he was supposed to be used, but he didn’t feel he had improved enough for us to use him,” Jorge told the media.
“We would have taken some risk in using him, but we preferred not to do so because he now has two months to go before the finals. We know Rodrigo well, so we decided not to bring him.”
Pereira will be thankful that Jorge decided against taking a risk with Gomes, who not only has a role to play at international level, but domestically too.
Wolves stars make the headlines for Portugal
Gomes has been making waves at Wolves since Pereira’s arrival but, the 21-year-old was not the talk of the town after the latest instalment of international action.
Instead, two other players associated with Wolves made the headlines, as Portugal U21 lost 4-2 to England U21 at The Hawthorns.
Old Gold loanee Fabio Silva scored against England, as did summer arrival Carlos Forbs, who is yet to win over Pereira.
After the game, Silva commented on his Wolves future, insisting that his focus is on the remainder of the season, not offering any hints regarding his next steps.
The action at The Hawthorns ended in defeat for Portugal U21 however, Wolves’ young gems managed to get themselves under the spotlight, in what was a thriller in the West Midlands.
