‘Playing really well’: Molineux legend says there’s another Wolves duo shining right now

Wolves have come into a bit of form after having a tough start to 2023/24.

Wolves opened with three defeats in their first four games, and fans were worried about the state of play.

Defensively, Wanderers were looking really shaky.

But In the last few weeks, Wolves have made improvements in all areas of the pitch.

Hwang Hee-chan and Pedro Neto have become something of a double act.

The Portuguese has regularly found his fellow winger, who has been absolutely clinical so far this season.

But there is also another duo playing really well right now, who have come in for praise from John Richards…

Wolves legend John Richards hails Max Kilman and Craig Dawson

Hwang and Neto have been getting all the plaudits this season.

But in the eyes of Molineux legend Richards, Wolves defenders Max Kilman and Craig Dawson have played their part in Wolves’ upturn in form recently.

He said (Express & Star): “We have a really strong defence with people like Kilman and Dawson playing really well at the moment.

“What’s been letting them down is the fact we haven’t been scoring goals. It makes their job that little bit more difficult. Now we have an attacking set-up knocking goals in, it makes the work of the defenders a lot more beneficial.”

Richards did also brand Neto ‘outstanding’, and is thoroughly enjoying Hwang’s goalscoring.

Kilman and Dawson have started every single game in the Premier League so far.

In the beginning, they undoubtedly looked a bit vulnerable.

But just lately they’ve been solid. Against Manchester City and Erling Haaland, they were great, especially Dawson.

Dawson and Kilman much improved, and Toti Gomes deserves credit

It is nice to hear someone acknowledging Dawson and Kilman for their recent improvements. They have definitely been much better.

They drew a bit of criticism at the start of the season. So it’s only fair they get their due credit now.

But it’s also important to mention Toti Gomes, who has been brilliant since coming into the starting XI.

He has helped the backline become more assured.

Ideally now, Wolves will remain solid at the back to provide the platform for the team to win games.
