‘Phenomenal’: Max Kilman thinks three players have been absolutely class for Wolves this term

Max Kilman has paid tribute to the Wolves attack for the way they have linked up this season.

The Molineux captain has watched as Wanderers have made great strides in the final third under Gary O’Neil.

It is still only nine goals scored in eight games.

But Wolves have created a lot of chances this season and that figure could easily be higher.

The haul of nine goals in the Premier League is actually only bettered by the current top eight teams in the table and Chelsea.

Certainly, Wanderers are looking much less toothless than the same period this time last year.

And Kilman has praised those at the opposite end of the field to him for the improvement…

So far this term, O’Neil has largely put his faith in Hwang Hee-chan, Matheus Cunha and Pedro Neto up top.

Hwang is on fire and has scored five of Wolves’ nine league goals, and Neto has made six assists.

Cunha has just the one goal and one assist, but is clearly valued immensely by O’Neil.

Kilman said of the trio (Wolves official): “Their link-up has been phenomenal this season, all three forwards have been pushing, doing really well.

“We just need to keep giving them the ball and let them do their magic.”

At this same stage last season, after eight Premier League games, Wolves had scored just three goals.

A marked improvement

There is no doubt that Wolves are looking better in the final third.

As Kilman says, some of the actual link up play between the forwards has been really good.

It is just now about becoming that bit more clinical, as Wolves are still squandering chances that other teams would put away no problem.

Fans would like to see Cunha in particular become a bit more clinical, as the middle man.

But ultimately, it’s picking up points that matters and if Cunha is contributing to wins in other ways then no one will mind too much.
