Pedro Neto speaks for many Wolves fans with comment about Craig Dawson

Wolves beat Tottenham Hotspur yesterday – and it was another top performance at the back from Craig Dawson.

Wanderers ran out 1-0 victors at Molineux for a massive three points.

Adama Traore grabbed the winner late in the second-half, converting brilliantly after an effort by Raul Jimenez was saved.

Wolves getting back to winning ways was important after stumbling a little in the Premier League of late.

The defeat to Bournemouth was very disappointing, and then they could only draw with Fulham. Another defeat on Wednesday to Liverpool meant a big result was needed yesterday and Wolves delivered.

It was a bit of a struggle in the first-half.

But Julen Lopetegui changed things up at half-time. He went 3-5-2 and brought on Adama Traore and Nathan Collins for Mario Lemina and Pedro Neto.

Wolves going to a back three really worked, and Spurs hardly threatened in the second-half.

And one man who was solid as ever was Dawson.

The January signing from West Ham United was just always in the right place, making a whopping eight clearances. And he was also superb in possession, completing 39/42 (93%) passes (Sofascore).

Pedro Neto sends message to Craig Dawson on Twitter after latest performance for Wolves

After the game, Dawson tweeted ‘a big result for us today’.

And today, winger Pedro Neto has responded to that message, replying with an opinion that many Wolves fans will share. He said simply ‘What a player’.

Dawson has been an absolutely superb signing for Wolves.

The 32-year-old has slotted into the backline and hardly put a foot wrong.

He always seems to be in the right place, and his presence appears to have had a great effect on Max Kilman as well.

It was a signing Wolves really needed to make after losing so many experienced players last summer.
