Wolves winger Pedro Neto has this afternoon dropped a fairly encouraging injury update on Instagram.
Wanderers fans watched in horror yesterday as the 23-year-old was forced from the field in the 2-2 draw with Newcastle United.
Neto was bearing down on goal and about to shoot, when he pulled up clutching his hamstring.
Neto received lengthy treatment, before finally leaving the field on a stretcher.
The scenes were worrying and there was real concern for the player.
But Gary O’Neil said after the game that Neto had been moving about after the game.
And now, the player himself has dropped a really encouraging update about his condition…
Wolves winger Pedro Neto provides injury update on Instagram
O’Neil had suggested that word on Neto’s injury might arrive in the coming days.
But Neto has today taken to social media to let Wolves fans know that he won’t actually be out for too long.
He wrote on Instagram: “Apart from all the noise I am here to say that I will be out for a couple of weeks, but very soon I will be out there stronger than before. Already focused on my recovery. See you soon.”
Given the scenes at Molineux, many Wolves fans will take this.
Hamstring injuries can rule players out for weeks and potentially months.
But it looks as though Neto may only be missing for a few matches.
A huge boost for Wolves
This is really good news.

Purely because of the potential for him to have been missing for many weeks.
Wolves will obviously be stung for missing him for a few games.
But in terms of how bad it could have been, this update from the player is most welcome.
