Joao Gomes makes big claim

The biggest performer on the weekend was easily Joao Gomes. The midfielder netted twice against Spurs as he dominated the pitch across the 90 minutes. His display was by far his best at Wolves since joining in 2023 as he netted his first goals since his debut.
After the game, the Brazilian spoke with Wolves about the match. Joao Gomes was full of praise for Gary O’Neil and was excited to hear that the Brazil manager was also present.
However, despite such a dominant display, Joao Gomes believes he can continue to improve at the club.
“I feel like that I can become much better than I’ve ever been,” he told Wolves. “Our coach gives me a lot of freedom for this, to become the player I want to be, and maybe get to the box.
“I believe that everything I’ve been experiencing nowadays has the touch of my coach. He is the one who gives me confidence, lifts me up, on the days when I am not well, and I hope to give back as much as I can.”
