Wolves recorded an impressive 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League yesterday to came their hopes of European football alive.
Wanderers bounced back from the defeat to Brentford in super fashion, beating Spurs at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with Gary O’Neil executing a perfect game plan.
Wolves were without key man Matheus Cunha, who is now out with a ‘significant’ hamstring injury.
But O’Neil did welcome back Hwang Hee-chan, who missed the Brentford game through injury.
He played up top with Pedro Neto and the plan was to sit in and defend and hit on the. The plan worked a treat, with Neto’s pace proving a huge issue for the hosts.
The brilliant Joao Gomes got both of Wolves’ goals, with Neto providing the assist for the Brazilian’s second goal.
The winger was brilliant yesterday, but after the game, he moved to give credit to a player who has quietly enjoyed his best season at Wolves since his arrival…
Pedro Neto praises ‘underrated’ Wolves star Nelson Semedo

It was important for Wolves to respond on Saturday against Spurs after a pretty disappointing result against Brentford last time out.
Wolves always seem to raise their game against Big Six clubs in the Premier League and this was the case yesterday, with the visitors fully worth the three points.
O’Neil got it spot on, despite missing one of his key players in Matheus Cunha, and Neto was just devastating.
But someone else who was absolutely tremendous against Spurs was Nelson Semedo, who was just all-action.
Semedo was defensively solid, making four clearances, one block, one interception and two tackles, but was also a threat (via Sofascore). He might have scored in the first-half, and in the second he laid on a perfect ball for Pablo Sarabia on a Wolves counter.
After the game, Wolves interviewed Semedo and the club uploaded the clip to X, and it was there that Neto expressed his feelings about Semedo.
Quoting the clip, the winger said: “Underrated. What a player.”
Semedo is amazing
It is some season that Semedo is having for Wolves.
He probably hasn’t really had his due credit because of how well the forwards have performed, but he has been absolutely superb this term under O’Neil.
The manager’s work with the likes of Hwang, Neto and Cunha has been clear to see, but the two wing-backs have also been magnificent this season.
Once upon a time at Molineux, £80,000-a-week star Semedo was regularly questioned over his defensive capabilities.
But something has clicked with him and he looks solid in one-vs-one scenarios and is much better with his positioning.
