Wolves host Leicester City in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon, and Vitor Pereira will see it as an opportunity to secure his sixth successive win.
Rewind back to the Gary O’Neil tenure, and Wolves would have earmarked this clash against Leicester City as a potential six-pointer in the battle against relegation.
But while the Foxes have faltered under Ruud van Nistelrooy, ultimately suffering relegation, Wolves have been flying under Vitor Pereira.
Pereira made more history last time out, becoming the first Wolves manager to win five consecutive games in the competition with a 1-0 victory over Manchester United.
Ahead of their clash at Molineux this weekend, Pereira has hinted at a debut for Mateus Mane, and that isn’t the only talking point.

Paul Merson on Matheus Cunha’s attitude ‘holding him back’
The summer transfer window doesn’t open till June, yet Matheus Cunha could soon have his exit out of Molineux confirmed.
Manchester United have reportedly agreed a deal with Cunha while the likes of Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest continue to wait in the wings.
Throughout this campaign, the Brazilian has contributed heavily to Wolves staying in the division with 14 goals but his attitude has been a major concern.
The 25-year-old has been suspended on two occasions, mostly recently for lashing out at Milos Kerkez in an FA Cup tie.
Cunha’s attitude was said to be a problem for interested clubs as he can easily lose his head, with Paul Merson saying that his mentality is the only thing ‘holding him back’.
In his column for Sportskeeda, Merson wrote: “Matheus Cunha has made it clear that he wants to leave in the summer. He’s a very talented footballer but his attitude needs to be in check. If you play for a big club, you cannot miss seven or eight games in a season for petty issues. That is the only thing holding him back at the moment.”
Merson issues Wolves vs Leicester City prediction
Fans have urged Pereira to drop Cunha and start Jean-Ricner Bellegarde instead after he missed out against Man United.
Understandably, supporters only want the manager to focus on players who will be here next season with the Brazil international seemingly on his way out.

Meanwhile, ahead of this weekend’s showdown, Merson has predicted Wolves to beat Leicester City 2-0 and do the league double over them for the first time since 1957/58.
“If you’re Wolves, you want to keep on winning now,” he said. “It was a brilliant result for them when they beat Manchester United at Old Trafford last weekend. And now they have the perfect game coming up to make it two wins on the trot. It’s such a big thing to finish the season well in the Premier League in my opinion. That will help Wolves keep the mood high among the fans ahead of next season.”
