Paul Merson raves over ‘top-notch’ Wolves star who could play at the highest level

Paul Merson has raved over talented Wolves ace Matheus Cunha as he insists the Brazilian could be a world-class player.

Wolves have been in magical form over the festive period, leaving a top-half place not far away.

Consecutive wins over both Chelsea and then Brentford have seen Gary O’Neil‘s side level with the blues and a win this weekend could see them end the calendar year in 10th

Wolves have multiple players to thank for this form with several performing out of their skin lately. One man who’s been extremely good is Matheus Cunha who has only failed to score or assist in two of his last eight games.

Now ahead of a year-ending bout against Sean Dyche’s Everton, Paul Merson has lauded Cunha.

Merson lauds Matheus Cunha for classy form

Writing in his weekly column for SportsKeeda in which he predicts the latest round of Premier League results, Merson was full of praise for Cunha.

“If Matheus Cunha could score a few goals, I think he could play for any team in the world as his dribbling ability and link-up play is top-notch.”

Merson is clearly in awe of Cunha given how great the Brazilian has been lately, but then after the praise he continued to praise Wolves.

“Wolves have had a good Christmas so I think this should be an interesting game with a handful of goals. They have some good players and have done really well to cope in the absence of Pedro Neto, who I believe is their main man.”

Merson predicts Wolves vs Everton

Merson wasn’t all for Wolves though as he also discussed the opponents and what Wolves need to be wary of from Everton.

“Everton should have got a result against Tottenham and pushed Manchester City to their limits earlier this week, indicating that both sides are playing some decent football heading into this one.

“That said, Sean Dyche’s side are just a point adrift of the relegation zone and need to get a result here.”

Finally, he concluded with a 2-2 score prediction between the two sides who are both capable of winning on their day.
