Wolves have their biggest game of the season this weekend against Burnley – and pundit Paul Merson has now dropped his score prediction.
It has been a disastrous start to the new season for Wolves, who find themselves rock-bottom of the Premier League table after eight games.
Wolves still haven’t won in the competition this term, having come within minutes of victories against Tottenham Hotspur and Brighton.
Last weekend’s defeat to Sunderland was hugely disappointing, and it has now placed extra emphasis on this game with Burnley.
After that loss to the Black Cats, Pereira admitted the Burnley game has now become ‘must-win’ for Wolves, and the pressure is starting to mount on the Portuguese.
A loss to Burnley at home really would be unthinkable.
And now, Paul Merson has shared what he thinks will happen this Sunday at Molineux.
Paul Merson predicts Wolves vs Burnley

Wolves simply have to start making some moves now, or risk being cut adrift.
The newly promoted sides all have something about them this year, with Sunderland obviously the pick of the bunch.
But Burnley have picked up seven points, and are not to be underestimated.
That said, this is still absolutely a game Wolves need to be winning, and Paul Merson believes they will get the job done.

Predicting a 2-0 home win, the pundit wrote in his latest Sportskeeda column: “Massive, huge, how do I even define this game? Burnley got a big result last weekend, when they beat Leeds. Wolves lost to Sunderland, but I actually think they did alright in that game. If I’m not wrong, Wolves had 16 shots but not one clear-cut chance, they dominated that game.
“At this moment in time, I don’t see a lot wrong with Wolves. Their only worrying performance was the game against Leeds at home, which they lost 3-1. I know they haven’t won a game yet, but I just think they will be fine at the end of the season. I have seen enough from Wolves to think they can avoid relegation!
“I expect Wolves to win because they desperately need a result in this game. If they don’t get three points, they are in serious trouble with the fixtures also not being the best from next week.”
Wolves vs Burnley head to head record
Following the defeat to Sunderland, many Wolves fans aren’t feeling too optimistic about the upcoming game with Burnley.
Matt Doherty believes Wolves will be OK once the team get the ball rolling, and surely this fixture will provide the best chance for that to happen.
