Paul Merson makes prediction for Wolves vs Liverpool

Wolves are back in Premier League action this weekend, and it’s Liverpool who are the opponents at Molineux.

Wanderers are looking to take revenge on Jurgen Klopp’s side, having been extremely unlucky to exit the FA Cup at the hands of the Reds last month.

Liverpool are somewhat in disarray at the moment.

Klopp’s team have not been firing on all cylinders this term and it’s a real chance for Wolves to get something from the game.

They’ve shown in the last two meetings with them they can go toe to toe with them.

Julen Lopetegui has now bolstered his squad significantly, so confidence should be high.

Paul Merson has been casting his eye over this weekend’s Premier League games, and he thinks Wanderers will come away with something this time.

Predicting a 1-1 draw, he wrote for Sportskeeda: “Liverpool defeated Wolves comfortably in the FA Cup, but they need to get going in the Premier League.

“They played a lot of high-pressure games last season, and it’s caught up with them. They’re paying the toll with injuries and a lack of form, and they’re in a bad space at the moment.

“Wolves are going to make it hard for Liverpool and will try to get something out of this Premier League game. I like their manager, and I think they’ll pull off a draw this weekend.

Wolves should be going for three points on Saturday.

Liverpool are no longer the force they were in recent seasons, and it’s a great time to be playing them.

Yes, Liverpool won the last meeting 1-0. But Wolves did have a lot of the ball, and they just need to use it a bit better this time around.

With some new faces able to play a part this time, Wolves can beat Liverpool.

They’re there for the taking, and hopefully Lopetegui implores his players to just be bold and go for it.
