Paul Merson makes prediction for Leicester vs Wolves

Paul Merson has made his score prediction for Leicester City vs Wolves this weekend.

Julen Lopetegui takes his side to the King Power Stadium and is looking for a third win on the spin.

Wolves have not yet recorded three wins in a row this season, so the motivation should be strong against the Foxes.

Leicester have really been struggling lately. Of course recently, they parted ways with Brendan Rodgers and are now under the management of Dean Smith, who has the job until the end of the season.

He started with a 3-1 defeat to Manchester City last weekend.

Wolves will have Ruben Neves available again this weekend, with the captain having now served his two-game ban.

Whether he comes straight back into the team remains to be seen. Some are suggesting Wolves played too well in the last two games for Lopetegui to change anything.

Midfielders Mario Lemina and Joao Gomes have been especially good in Neves’ absence.

Another victory this weekend would put Wolves in an amazing position to seal their safety.

But in the eyes of Merson, form will go out of the window on Saturday. Predicting a 2-1 win for hosts Leicester, he said (Sportskeeda): “Leicester City are playing Wolves, Everton, and Leeds this month – this is their bread and butter. These games are like cup finals, and they need at least seven points from these matches.

“Wolves have enjoyed a couple of good results against Chelsea and Brentford, but that could play into Leicester’s hands – Wolves have their eyes off the ball. James Maddison is one of Leicester’s best players and could make a difference this week.

“If Leicester don’t win this game, they’ll go into the next two with low confidence and could possibly get relegated. They need to start by winning this game, and I think they’ll pull it off this weekend.”

Wolves must not be complacent against Leicester – they will be up for the fight

Wolves are in a very good moment right now following two massive results.

The club sit seven points clear of the relegation zone, but the players must continue to push until going down is mathematically impossible.

Wolves must not be complacent this weekend, or else Merson’s prediction could ring true.

Recent form suggests Wanderers are the favourites, but Leicester will be scrapping.

It would be very ‘Wolves’ to suffer a defeat against the Foxes after two amazing performances and results.

The players need to show that there is a new mentality and culture at the club now, and put a struggling side to the sword. They have the players to do it, and confidence should be high.
