‘Outplayed’: Gary Neville gives instant reaction on Sky to Man United 1-0 Wolves

Gary Neville has admitted Manchester United got lucky tonight against Wolves.

Wanderers lost 1-0 at Old Trafford, with Raphael Varane scoring the only goal of the game.

Wolves were terrific against the Red Devils.

They knocked the ball around really well at times and had a plethora of chances.

But Wolves just couldn’t find that clinical finish – which has long been an issue in this team.

But it was refreshing to see so many players playing with heart, especially considering the chaotic past week at the club.

And he admitted he had been really impressed by Wolves.

He said: “Surprised by Wolves. Thought Wolves were absolutely fantastic. I thought United’s midfield was non-existent – it emptied.

“There been a lot of sort of misery around how their season might end up. But they’ve been brilliant tonight Wolves honestly. Everything apart from a goal or two. Manchester United were outplayed. They can feel very fortunate they’ve come away with three points. They didn’t deserve it.”

Wolves so unlucky

The fact Wolves are coming away with nothing tonight is extremely frustrating.

Wolves threw everything at United and just couldn’t get the ball in the net.

But Gary O’Neil will be seriously encouraged by what he saw. As will the fans.

To think he could oversee a performance like this after less than a week at the club is amazing.
