Tolu Arokodare and Jorgen Strand Larsen finally started a game together for Wolves in Rob Edwards’ opening game in charge.
There were glimpses of the two being a good partnership. Jorgen Strand Larsen sent Arokodare through on goal with a tidy flick in the second half, but the forward decided to try to pass to Marshall Munetsi instead of shooting.
It was not the best choice, considering Munetsi had a rather terrible performance.
Wolves’ best performer in the disappointing Crystal Palace loss?
However, what happened with Arokodare after the game was quite strange, and we are not sure anyone will ever quite pin down exactly what it was about.

Oliver Glasner spoke with Tolu Arokodare after full-time
Wolves’ loss was a disappointment, but there were at least some positives to take away.
Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton noticed that the Old Gold were difficult to play against, and that is something that has been long awaited.
Oliver Glasner’s side did struggle to break down the Wanderers, and it took a deflected effort and a worldie to score against them.

Then when the full-time whistle went, there was only one man the Palace boss wanted to speak to, and that was bizarrely Tolu Arokodare.
The pair had quite the long conversation, and they were the last two on the pitch following the end of the game.
There is no indication as to how that came about or the context of the chat.

No history between Tolu Arokodare and Oliver Glasner

It was quite the odd conversation between the two, and one you would not have predicted to happen.
The Crystal Palace manager and the Wolves striker have never crossed paths over their careers, so you can only guess as to what they were discussing.
There may be some backstory about their time in Germany, as Tolu was playing with FC Köln when Glasner was managing Wolfsburg.
Either way, it is sure to spark quite a lot of rumours about the future of the forward, especially if Jean-Philippe Mateta continues to perform and spark interest elsewhere.
