Oliver Glasner names the three Wolves players who are ‘quality’ amid ‘dangerous’ verdict

Oliver Glasner has singled out three Wolves players for praise ahead of the relegation six-pointer against his Crystal Palace side.

Wolves have entered must-win territory in the Premier League after failing to win any of their opening nine games.

Crystal Palace have also encountered struggles this term but the Eagles did get off the mark last time out, clinching a 1-0 win over Tottenham before beating Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup.

It’s an encounter at the bottom of the table that Wolves forward Matheus Cunha has lauded as ‘crucial’ in their season, and he’s one player who has received praise ahead of the clash.

Oliver Glasner calls three Wolves players ‘quality’

With the quality Gary O’Neil has at his disposal, the Wanderers will feel like they’re in a false position in the table.

Cunha – who scored last time out against Brighton – is the prime example of the above, as he’s far too good to play in a team fighting relegation.

The 25-year-old has netted four goals in nine league matches this term and Glasner has labelled the Brazilian as ‘quality’, along with his teammates Jorgen Strand Larsen and Nelson Semedo.

The Austrian pinpointed that trio as Wolves’ key threats when speaking about how ‘dangerous’ they are in attack, citing their blistering pace as a reason to be fearful.

“First of all, I think [Wolves] are a really good team. In the last game they were very close to getting the win, they scored many goals. They scored two at Brighton, very often they score two goals, but they concede three,” Glasner said on Palace’s official website.

They have a lot of quality players, especially in their attacking, with [Jørgen] Strand Larsen, with [Matheus] Cunha, with all the midfielders, [Nélson] Semedo from the right. They play a very attacking style, really playing quick, they have pace, so this makes them dangerous, regardless if they have a win or not.

“Yes [they are a dangerous side], because we played them in the USA. We won 3-1, but to be honest, I think we could or should have lost this game, because their players were really amazing.”

Goalscoring isn’t a problem for Wolves

Glasner’s verdict on Wolves couldn’t be any closer to the truth, as the Old Gold carry a huge threat in transition with their pace and quality.

Of the teams currently in the bottom half of the table, O’Neil’s men have scored the second most goals (12).

Last weekend, they were able to salvage a point against a very good Brighton side by netting twice late on.

In the fight against relegation, most teams normally struggle to find the net due to a lack of quality in attack however, Wolves’ main problem is leaking goals.

They’ve conceded the most of any team in the competition (25) and failure to fix that could see them get relegated, although improving their defence will be the key to surviving.
