Official document confirms Jeff Shi’s Wolves exit as his real name is revealed

Wolves have moved on from Jeff Shi as Nathan Shi, who is of no relation, has taken the former Molineux chief’s place.

Fosun continue to be a big talking point at Wolves, but for all the wrong reasons.

Jeff Shi joined the club in July 2016 as a key figure in the takeover by the Chinese conglomerate, initially serving as a board member, before being appointed as Executive Chairman in July 2017.

After a pretty seamless start to life at Molineux, things have gone on a downward spiral.

He faced heavy criticism for his strategy and lack of ambition in the current campaign. But he didn’t help himself. He agreed to a BBC interview, where he told Wolves fans that relegation is ‘not that serious’.

And the Billy Wright stand protest appeared to be the final straw for the Chinese businessman.

Jeff Shi’s Wolves exit confirmed in Companies House filing

Some Wolves fans had a slight feeling that Jeff Shi may be secretly operating behind the scenes at the club, but those concerns have now been put to bed.

In an official document released by Companies House, Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club (1986) Limited has confirmed the termination of Mr Yu Shi (Jeff Shi).

He was actually terminated on the 19th of December, but the document has only just come to light.

What do we know about Nathan Shi?

Well, not an awful lot, to be quite honest.

Nathan Shi comes into the Wolves role with no prior experience in football, but he has spoken well in the limited interviews he has given so far at Molineux.

He aims to rebuild trust through actions at Wolves, which is something that wasn’t done under Jeff Shi.

Joining Fosun Group in 2016, he formerly served as Administrative Assistant to the Chairman of Fosun Group, Guo Guangchang. Shi has long been involved in the development of core business segments of Fosun Group and possesses rich experience in project execution, operational management, and resource integration.

Jeff’s words often meant very little, and he was even caught out on a stadium lie by the council.

However, it remains to be seen as to how long Nathan will be at Wolves, as he’s not seen as the long-term replacement for Jeff.
