No sign of Daniel Podence in latest Wolves training pictures

Wolves have dropped a new batch of training photos – and there is no sign of Daniel Podence.

The winger missed out on Saturday’s trip to Southampton, having picked up a groin injury in the lead up to the game.

According to the Birmingham Mail, ‘medics don’t believe the problem is anything serious’. Podence was replaced on the bench by Pedro Neto, who has now shaken of his ankle injury.

It remains to be seen if Podence will be able to feature at all against this weekend’s opponents Bournemouth.

But looking at the new photos Wolves released today of training, Podence is nowhere to be seen.

There is also no sign of Hwang Hee-chan, whom Julen Lopetegui has already said will be out for around four to five weeks.

An injury for Podence is certainly not what Wolves need.

He has been the team’s best attacker this season, and is currently the joint-top scorer with Ruben Neves.

He is so often the man to carve out opportunities in the final third, and Lopetegui will hope he won’t be out for too long.

The manager will give a press conference on Friday and perhaps be able to provide an update on the £17 million man.

It’s always possible he could resume training later in the week. But for now, it looks like he’s a doubt to face the Cherries.

No sign of Daniel Podence in Wolves training is slightly concerning

So Podence appears to have not been training so far this week.

That would perhaps point to him not being able to play this weekend against Bournemouth.

But that said, Wolves have managed to win their last two Premier League games, with Podence getting just seven minutes against Liverpool.

The team has shown they can be OK without him.

Having said that, Lopetegui would certainly wish to have him available.

Podence probably is having his best season since he came to the club, and he obviously has the potential influence games.
