Nigel Lonwijk says it’s his goal to play in the Premier League with Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The young centre-back is currently on loan with Dutch Eredivisie side Fortuna Sittard.

It is Lonwijk’s first loan spell away from Compton Park, after joining the club in January 2020.
The 18-year-old had been in impressive form since his arrival in the Black Country, and quickly moved up to the U23s from the U18s.
Lonwijk certainly made an impression for James Collins’ side last season.

As a result, he made the first-team bench a few times under Nuno Espirito Santo.
He is yet to make his debut, but those matchday experiences have seemingly already stuck with Lonwijk.

Asked in an interview with Football Oranje if his end goal is to play in the Premier League with Wolves, he said: “Yeah of course.
“Wolves is a big team in England. At the end of the day I want to play in the Premier League, and hopefully that’s with Wolves.
“That’s my goal now. That’s what I want to achieve.”
Lonwijk, who signed a new deal with the club before heading back to the Netherlands, recently made his debut for Sittard against Sparta Rotterdam.
He was an unused substitute for the 1-0 defeat to Heerenveen.
Sittard’s next game takes place today at 5.45pm against reigning champions Ajax.
A big season for Lonwijk
Lonwijk has been progressing well since coming to the club less than two years ago.
To have been granted a loan move to get first-team minutes is a positive sign. It suggests the club have high hopes for him.
He knows minutes are not guaranteed and that he’ll have to work to break into the team, and hopefully he can do that soon.

The youngster came across relaxed and mature in his interview, and surely chances will soon come his way.
It is also good to hear that he’s already got his sights set on playing in the Premier League with Wolves.
