New Wolves signing missing from international squad tonight as Newcastle clash looms

Wolves are taking on Newcastle United in the Premier League this weekend – and Vitor Pereira might have just received a small boost.

Wanderers will go in search of their first points of the 2025/26 season, after losing their first three against Manchester City, Bournemouth and Everton.

Wolves have struggled so far, and fans are hoping for big improvements once the international break is over.

The way Wolves ended the transfer window has not gone down too well with fans, with many worried that the new signings are all gambles.

Certainly, Wolves have taken a big risk – especially not signing a new midfielder.

But one man who might be able to help with this situation is Ladislav Krejci.

And tonight, there is potentially some good news for Vitor Pereira over his new signing.

Krejci was one of quite a few players from Wolves called up for international duty during this break.

Krejci featured for his country last week in their World Cup qualifier against Montenegro, helping his side to keep a clean sheet in a 2-0 win. He earned praised for his performance.

But tonight, Krejci is not involved for the Czechs against Saudi Arabia.

The match is only a friendly, so Vitor Pereira may have been hoping his new signing on loan from Girona wouldn’t feature.

On the face of it, Krejci missing this game is good news as it means he may return to Compton fairly fresh.

However, it’s not out of the question he may have picked up a knock.

He hasn’t long been at the club, but it would be good to see Krejci starting for Wolves against Newcastle.

The club have spent a lot of money on him, clearly believing he has a lot to offer.

So far, Wolves’ backline has been all at sea, conceding 10 goals in four games. So Krejci coming in feels like a sensible idea.

Pereira has already praised Krejci and believes he can help this team a lot.

And Dave Edwards feels Krejci could help Wolves to become less nervous at the back, citing the player’s composure as a handy trait.

So it would be no surprise to see him get the nod this Saturday if he is fit to play, and hopefully he’ll impress in what will be a very tough match.
