Wolves picked up another three points in the Premier League on Saturday against Fulham – and Nelson Semedo praised Mario Lemina for his incredible all-action performance.
Wolves have moved up to ninth in the table courtesy of the win – which is Gary O’Neil‘s new favourite of the season so far.
Having lost Jean-Ricner Bellegarde and Pedro Neto to injuries, a huge effort from Wolves would be required to get a result.
That is exactly what happened, with the brilliant Rayan Ait-Nouri getting the ball rolling before Nelson Semedo took a shot that went in off Tom Cairney.
Fulham grabbed a consolation with the last kick of the game, but Wolves were full value for the three points – and after the game, Semedo hailed Wolves’ midfield general Mario Lemina…
Nelson Semedo says Wolves just have a ‘top player’ in Mario Lemina, after Fulham win

Lemina was just extraordinary on Saturday, and the performance he gave has to be one of the very best we have seen from him in a Wolves shirt.
Lemina started as a central midfielder like always, but he found himself in so many different positions in the game following the injuries to Bellegarde and Neto.
He was cropping up on the wings and getting into the box, and the 30-year-old just ran his socks off for the team.
Speaking after the game, full-back Semedo lauded his teammate, saying (via Wolves official): “He was very good. Mario, he does everything. He’s a very important player for us. He’s a very important player in the dressing room as well.
“I have massive respect for him. He played as a winger today, he played as a striker, he did a little bit at left-back as well, so he’s a top player.”
Super Mario is a sensation
The likes of Neto, Hwang Hee-chan and Matheus Cunha have come in for regular plaudits this season, but Mario Lemina has been the heartbeat of this team. He’s always available, and he’s always influential.
The £45,000-a-week star Gabon international has just been nothing short of inspirational for Wolves.
This team should have been beleaguered, after the departure of Julen Lopetegui and many top players in the transfer window. Instead, they have been brilliant – and Lemina perfectly epitomises what Gary O’Neil’s side is all about.
He is simply a warrior on the pitch, but Semedo’s verdict makes it clear that he is also a major part of that dressing room and everything that goes on behind the scenes.
