Wolves are back to winning ways in the Premier League, after beating Luton Town 2-1 at Molineux on Saturday.
Wanderers finally got back on track after some disappointing results recently, defeating the Hatters to move onto 46 points.
Hwang Hee-chan bagged his first goal of 2024, after seeing a header controversially ruled out in midweek against Bournemouth.
Toti Gomes then doubled Wolves’ leader with a brilliant header at the back post from a Mario Lemina cross.
That was Toti’s second goal of the season and first in the Premier League this term – a year on from his last in the competition, against Aston Villa.
Toti is a very popular member of the Wolves squad – and his teammates were thrilled for him on Saturday after his goal and great performances and several players sent messages to him on Instagram…
Wolves stars send messages to Toti Gomes after fine goal and performance against Luton

There was a brief bit of doubt about Toti heading into Saturday’s game.
Gary O’Neil had said that the centre-back had been feeling his hamstring after the defeat to Bournemouth, but thankfully he was passed fit to face the Hatters.
And it was probably one of Toti’s best outings of the season alongside Max Kilman, who was also excellent.
As per Sofascore, Toti won 7/14 duels, completed 67/75 (89%) passes, and made a game-high four clearances. He had the third-most touches in the match (91), with only Lemina and Kilman having more.
It was just a solid performance from the Portugal international, and he took his goal very well at the back post.
After the game, Toti took to social media to mark the occasion. A number of his teammates commented on the post:
- Mario Lemina – 🫡✨🤍
- Max Kilman – Beast 🔥
- Nelson Semedo – Máquina di guerra (War machine)
- Matheus Cunha – Meu mano Toti! Joga demais (My bro Toti! Play too much)
- Joao Gomes – Que jogador ❤️👏🏼 (What a player)
What a find Toti was
It has been a pleasure to watch Toti’s development this season.
He warmed the bench for the first two months of the season, but has now established himself under O’Neil and it is just brilliant to see.
Because Toti has never complained at Wolves. He has bided his time and shown a lot of patience, and is now being rewarded with regular starts.
It is no less than he deserves and it is always satisfying when he has a good game. The 25-year-old is a low-maintenance kind of player that every squad needs.
You can clearly tell how popular he is with his teammates at Molineux, and hopefully he can continue to get better and better under O’Neil.
