There are a few Wolves stars who have been linked with exits this month – but captain Nelson Semedo may have suggested one player could be staying put.
It’s going to be a busy month at Molineux, with new manager Vitor Pereira keen to put his stamp on the squad.
The Portuguese arrived a couple of weeks ago after Gary O’Neil was sacked, and has had a very positive start so far.
He’s overseen two wins and a draw, and had Wolves playing some great stuff while looking much more organised.
The players have responded very well to his arrival, and there is newfound optimism within the fanbase ahead of the second half of the 2024/25 season.
It’s going to be intriguing to see how the squad is looking at the end of January – and some eyes will be on Goncalo Guedes.
Nelson Semedo suggests ‘happy’ Goncalo Guedes could stay at Wolves

Goncalo Guedes’ season at Wolves has been a real surprise to many.
The attacker looked all set to leave the club at the start of the summer, having been out on loan at Benfica and Villarreal last season.
But he was a surprise inclusion for Wolves’ pre-season trip to Miami, and then stuck around beyond the summer window.
Guedes has been a surprisingly strong performer this season for Wolves, having made nine goal contributions in 18 appearances and just 610 minutes on the pitch.
But despite his efficiency, there’s been some talk about Guedes leaving this month.
Apparently, Villarreal are interested in Guedes.
But Semedo has suggested his teammate could be set to stay at the club, insisting he is ‘happy’. He told Sky Sports: “He is happy here and really focused. I think he is a different man now.
“He has a really good understanding of the game and he plays on my side as well, so we don’t even have to talk. He has really settled in and he is doing really well for us.”

Wolves need to keep Guedes
It is very important that Wolves keep Guedes beyond the January transfer window.
The star’s redemption arc has been pleasantly surprising this season, and Wolves simply cannot be allowing such an efficient and productive player to depart.
He’s looked pretty happy and smiley this season – and especially so under Pereira.

So hopefully that means he isn’t going to agitate for an exit this month, amid reported interest from Villarreal.
One gets the feeling he’ll get a lot more minutes under Pereira if he sticks around, so hopefully he’s ready to lock in for Wolves for the rest of the campaign.
Pereira has suggested Guedes must run more if he’s to play regularly under him. But Guedes’ work-rate this season has certainly been unquestionable, so there’s every chance he’d become an important player if he did stay.
