Nelson Semedo admits he just adores one thing Wolves fans do on matchdays

Wing-back Nelson Semedo has gushed over one thing that many Wolves fans do on matchdays at Molineux.

The Portugal international has just finished his fourth season at Molineux, and recently stated that it was his best campaign to date.

Many fans will agree with that, as will his teammates whose votes recently saw him named Players’ Player of the Season.

Semedo really shone at times in 2023/24 under Gary O’Neil, who very quickly took a liking to the 30-year-old. There were some people who thought O’Neil might have turned to Matt Doherty – who had just returned to the club on a free transfer – a bit more.

But Semedo was practically ever-present for Wolves, playing 3483 minutes across 41 appearances.

The player has been speaking about the 2023/24, and admitted there is something Wolves fans do that he absolutely loves…

Semedo certainly enjoyed himself in 2023/24.

He was a constant pick for O’Neil, playing wing-back, full-back and even centre-back on occasion.

The former Barcelona man was certainly a level above last season, and his Players’ Player award was very much deserved.

Often last season, because he had so many good games, Semedo’s name rung around Molineux, and the player has said that he absolutely loves the song the fans have for him.

He said (via Wolves official): “I’m not going to lie – that’s really nice to hear. Even my kids are singing that to me sometimes, so I’m really proud of that.

“The supporters really helped us a lot, both at home and away, and we always felt like we were playing at home.”

For those unfamiliar, Semedo’s chant can be heard here.

Semedo seems very happy at Wolves

It’s nice to hear Semedo acknowledging his song, and he gives the impression that he is fairly happy at the club.

There has been some speculation about his future recently. It has been suggested that Wolves could seek to move him on since he only has one year left on his contract.

He is a high earner, and getting him off the wage bill could allow Wolves to complete other deals this summer.

But we know that O’Neil absolutely loves Semedo, with the manager recently branding him ‘massive’ for Wolves and admitting he is ‘desperate’ to keep him.

It has also previously been reported that Semedo and his family are settled living in Tettenhall, which may well point to him staying at Wolves for one more year.
