The final weeks of the transfer window saw Wolves face serious interest in star man Jorgen Strand Larsen.
We know all too well about the Jorgen Strand Larsen to Newcastle saga.
There were real concerns that the Norwegian would be making two transfers in one window, especially given that he wanted the Newcastle move.
But Eddie Howe got his two strikers and Wolves fans everywhere could breathe a sigh of relief.
The potential £60 million move drew criticism, with some pundits believing the fee to be too much for the Wolves striker.
Nedum Onuoha shares his thoughts on Jorgen Strand Larsen’s £60m price tag
Wolves had to withstand three bids from Newcastle in the month of August. The bidding started at £50 million, but reports saw that figure increase to £60 million after a couple of stern rejections.
Former Man City defender Nedum Onuoha recently discussed Strand Larsen while assessing Wolves’ window.
He says: “I think it’s very easy for attackers to be 60 million pound players if they score a few goals in any particular season. He’s quite young still as well.”
Strand Larsen managed 14 goals in his debut season in the Premier League. Onuoha believes if Newcastle were prepared to offer that much, it must be for a good reason.
He continues: “I think in terms of transfer fees and stuff, I don’t really care about the price. If people can afford to do it, then that’s the price. You know what I mean? Like 60 million. That’s how they perceive his value.”
As for his overall assessment of Wolves’ summer business, he had them in the lowest possible tier alongside Brentford.
Jorgen Strand Larsen could very well leave Wolves next summer
As mentioned, Strand Larsen was interested in the proposed Newcastle move, just a couple of months after signing a permanent deal with Wolves.
At 25, he is just entering his prime, and another double-digit goalscoring campaign will only make him all the more enticing for the big clubs.

This window was unique with the level of movement around Europe at the striker spot. Heading into next summer, the pool of options will be much smaller, and we should expect more interest.
Depending on how Wolves’ season goes, Strand Larsen could see the club as the right place for him. But his ambitions for a bigger move have been revealed and his future at Molineux is far from certain.
