Nathan Shi spoke about Fosun at last night’s Fan Forum at Molineux.
The new executive chairman fielded questions from fans alongside Rob Edwards and Matt Jackson, and arguably came out of it the best of the three.
There were occasions when Nathan Shi didn’t go into as much detail as perhaps many would have liked.
What do you make of the decision to make Nathan Shi the permanent executive chairman? 🤔
Has he convinced you so far that he's the right man for the job?
But he came across well, and even had the audience laughing a few times.
He’s made a decent start at Wolves on the communication front and has tried to be accountable in the face of a fanbase that is understandably quite ferocious right now.
Ultimately he’ll be judged on his actions, and hopefully he’ll come through for Wolves.
And it’ll be very interesting to see if he’s able to somehow mend the relationship between fans and Fosun, which is at an all-time low.

Nathan Shi shares how Fosun now see Wolves

At one point in the evening, Shi was asked about how ambitious Fosun are towards Wolves now following the club’s relegation.
He said: “It’s been the 10th year of Fosun investing in Wolves. Before Covid, Fosun was mostly an investment firm, (who) buy a lot of assets. While after Covid, the group has changed the core business so now its operating firm and the major business is about the family consuming half of the assets, half of the employees outside of China. Wolves definitely is one of the most important core assets and brands of Fosun.
“It really hurts the shareholders that this season ends like this. They question the management team as well as you. This is not acceptable. We do need a lot of change.
“I can’t force you to believe in Fosun, you have every right to believe in anything you want or not. What I can say to assure you is we have the full support from the shareholder.
“I report there now directly to the board of Fosun. There’s no layer in between. It’s almost like one of the top, top core businesses now in Fosun. We are really taking accountability for the results.”
Shi also claimed that Fosun have learned lessons over the last 10 years.

He talked about how the owners were ambitious in their earlier years at the club, as Wolves came out of the Championship and finished seventh place in the Premier League in back-to-back seasons.
Shi then spoke about missed opportunities to kick on, suggesting this will be the driving force for Fosun to get Wolves back to where they need to be.
Obviously, many fans detest Fosun for overseeing such a spectacular downfall, so the jury is very much out on whether they – aided by Shi – can fix the mess.
