It has been a terrible start to the new season for Wolves.

The team have won just two games in the Premier League so far, and scored only eight goals.

Lopetegui has a lot of work to do. But fans have confidence in him given his pedigree and experiences in football management so far.

Lopetegui started on Monday, but had arrived at the club on Friday where he was shown around Compton Park. He was then in attendance at Molineux for the game with Arsenal on Saturday night.

Collins has been speaking about Lopetegui, and revealed that the 56-year-old was trying to keep out of the way as much as possible.

He said (via Wolves official): “He’s been in, but he hasn’t spoken to us yet as a group. He said he wanted to leave Steve and James to it with their final game, because they’ve worked hard and they deserved this.

“He’s just been saying hello and asking how we are, as he was trying to keep out of the way as much as possible, but I’ll see him in a few weeks.

“I don’t know a lot about him, but you just look at his CV and it’s a great one, so I’m really looking forward to working with him. I think it’ll be good and I’ll enjoy it.”

Of course, Saturday night’s game with Arsenal was Steve Davis’ last as interim manager.

He, supported by James Collins and Tony Roberts, has done a good job for Wolves in terms of instilling positivity and fight into the team following the sacking of Bruno Lage.

Nathan Collins’ comments prove that Julen Lopetegui is a humble and respectful character

It is clear that Lopetegui is a man that conducts himself very well.

He is extremely warm and polite, and the comments from Collins indicate that he is respectful and without ego.

These are traits that are going to endear him to everyone associated with Wolves very quickly.

And the players are bound to take to him.

There have been suggestions that both Nuno Espirito Santo and Bruno Lage had the potential to be a little cold at times.

Lopetegui’s style might just be something that comes as a breath of fresh air to the players.
