Morgan Gibbs-White has showered praise on new Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Bruno Lage, claiming he has been ‘unbelievable’ since coming in.
The 45-year-old has been hard at work over the past couple of weeks or so, after replacing Nuno Espirito Santo last month.
Lage took his first pre-season game as Wolves boss yesterday.
A 1-0 defeat to Crewe Alexandra wasn’t the result he would have hoped for.
But results are fairly irrelevant right now.
It’s all about getting minutes into legs, and getting the players used to his way of playing.
Gibbs-White featured yesterday, and spoke after the game about the new man in charge.
And it’s clear the midfielder is already taken by Lage.
“It’s going really good,” he told the club’s official website. “The way he wants to play is really good for us and we’re still trying to get used to how he wants to play.
“We had Nuno for four years, so the transition is quite different, but since he came in the door the new manager, he’s been unbelievable, he’s been demanding and I’m enjoying working for him and looking forward to seeing how things go.”
Encouraging words early doors
These are encouraging remarks from Gibbs-White.
2021/22 is a big season for the 21-year-old, and many are hoping to see him turn over a new leaf.
Perhaps Lage will be the man to help him do just that.
It appears he will be a member of the first-team squad for 2021/22, so it is good that Gibbs-White is already quite taken by Lage.
