More good news for Fabio Silva after striker’s Portugal call-up, Wolves officials will be pleased

Wolves officials are hoping to see a productive season for Fabio Silva, who is currently on loan at Las Palmas.

Wolves fans expected Silva to leave Molineux permanently in the last transfer window, but that didn’t come to fruition in the end.

Silva had openly said he never really wanted to join Wolves when he did back in 2020, and had opened the door to an exit.

But seemingly no club came in with a suitable offer, and Silva completed a move to Spanish club Las Palmas.

Silva’s agent had suggested a move to Spain was on the cards for Silva, and it’s been a decent start for him. Recently, Roberto Martinez gave Silva his first-ever call-up to the Portugal national team – and now there’s more good news.

Silva has started to really settle in Spain and November was a productive month for the Wolves loanee.

The month didn’t start particularly well for Las Palmas, as they lost 2-0 to Atletico Madrid. But they bounced back against Rayo Vallecano, winning 3-1. Silva scored in that game, with a terrific glancing header to make it 1-0, after winning the corner himself.

After the international break though it was back to losing ways for las Palmas, as they fell to a 3-2 defeat against Mallorca. But Silva was on target once again, converting confidently from the penalty spot.

He’s now scored four goals in 10 appearances for the club, which is an impressive return considering Las Palmas are struggling down in 17th.

Silva’s loan is working out well for Wolves

It’s been claimed by Liam Keen that Silva is almost 100% certain to leave Wolves next summer, barring some major turnaround.

The suggestion was that Wolves and Silva are ‘done’ with each other, and that the plan is for the player to leave permanently in the next summer window.

So Wolves officials are hoping to see Silva enjoy a really productive spell – and they’ll be very pleased with how things have gone so far.

Between his Portugal call-up and being named U23 Player of the Month in La Liga, his market value will be steadily rising.

Wolves will likely not recoup anywhere near the £35 million they paid to sign him in 2020. But the more productive he is, the more his value will rise.
