Monday’s protest against Fosun and Jeff Shi picks up steam as more Wolves fan groups join efforts

On Friday afternoon, plans for a protest against the ownership of Wolves were drawn up, as fans are set to make their frustration known during Monday’s clash against Manchester United.

Fan group Old Gold Pack released a statement asking fans to wait outside the ground for the opening fifteen minutes.

This came after supporters online clamoured for action to be taken after defeat against Nottingham Forest.

With the game against Manchester United, live on Monday Night Football, it is sure to garner a lot of attention, and now, the plans are gaining even more momentum.

Can you see Fosun selling Wolves in the event of relegation?😡

Old Gold Pack are no longer standing alone in their efforts to protest against the ownership and the running of the club by both Fosun and Jeff Shi.

Multiple Wolves fan groups have now joined the bid to make a stand. This follows just a month after these same groups wrote a public letter to Fosun with their concerns.

Expectedly, there was no response, and that has left fans having to take the next step to express their grievances.

Fan groups such as Wolves 1877 Trust, Talking Wolves, Wolves Fancast, The Wolves Report, Wolves 77 Club, Always Wolves, Punjabi Wolves and The Wolfpack have all released a joint statement in regard to Monday’s plans.

It reads, “We want to make it clear, in a peaceful but unmistakable way, that Wolves should be run with the ambition, pride and values this club was built on.

“Supporters have tried to raise concerns. We’ve tried to engage. We’ve tried to be heard, and it has felt, time and again, like Fosun and Jeff Shi simply haven’t listened. That’s why we’ve reached this point.

“By not addressing obvious leadership failings from Jeff Shi, Fosun have left supporters doubting whether they’re still capable of taking Wolves in the right direction.”

The groups are also aware that not everyone is able or wants to be part of the protest and expressed that those attending should be mindful of that fact.

It could mark an important moment in the relationship between club and supporters, and the timing of the protest could have the maximum impact.

Wolves vs Man United is the best occasion to protest

The timing of the protest is excellent. Manchester United are one of the biggest clubs in world football, and there are sure to be a lot of eyes on Monday night’s game.

Supporters want to be heard, and making a statement such as having the ground be as empty as possible for the opening 15 minutes sends a big message.

If there are a large section of supporters missing during the opening stages, the images will be hard for Fosun to ignore.

Wolves are in the position they are in, not due to a bad manager, not due to the players not trying, but due to the lack of proper investment.

It is certainly time for fans’ voices to be heard.
