Max Kilman has lavished praise on Matheus Nunes, after the midfielder put in another fine performance for Wolves against Brentford.

Nunes stole headlines last weekend after he scored an amazing goal against Chelsea.

His volley into the top corner against the Blues is one of the goals of the season so far in the Premier League.

Nunes was back starting on the right hand side yesterday against Brentford. And he was able to follow up his display against the Blues.

He was excellent against the Bees, and not content with scoring one of the goals of the season last weekend, he made one of the assists of the season yesterday for Hwang Hee-chan to score.

Nunes carried the ball from the right wing and nutmegged a Brentford player before surging into the box and crossing.

His pass across was eventually turned in by Hwang, who seems to be in the right place at the right time at the moment.

Nunes then moved into the middle for the closing stages of the game and ran the game.

Speaking afterwards, a thoroughly impressed Kilman said of his teammate (via Wolves official): “His run today was unbelievable and he was phenomenal the whole game. Same as everyone today, everyone gave 110% and that’s why we won the game.”

Matheus Nunes has arrived for Wolves, he was outstanding against Brentford

That’s back-to-back stellar performances now from Nunes who, it’s safe to say, has finally arrived for Wolves.

The 24-year-old is now showing why Wolves worked so hard to bring him to the club last summer.

He has always been an amazing talent. But previously, he struggled to have a big influence for the team. Bruno Lage undoubtedly didn’t use him correctly, and Nunes also seemed to have trouble adapting to English football.

But something has now clicked with Nunes.

Some are saying he is perhaps performing like this due to the absence of Ruben Neves.

Whatever the reason, Wanderers fans now just hope he can keep shining until the end of the season.
